Following recent enquiries, the Greater London PQ Consortium has heard twice (the most recent being a couple of weeks ago) that Nottingham Trent University would be transferring the contract for the Professional Certificate in Effective Practice programme to the Open University. This has been twice refuted when the Accreditation Manager has asked about this. However, Nottingham Trent have stated that they will not be running a programme for 2006/7. This will, of course, have implications for social workers who embark on the 2006/7 programme as they will NOT be able to claim PQ2, 4 and 5.
Those social workers who can claim PQ2, 4 and 5 are those who undertook the PCEP in 2004/5, who will need to make a retrospective claim for professional credits, and those undertaking the current course in 2005/6.
Nottingham Trent will be having an Assessment Board in the spring of 2007 for those candidates who do not, for whatever reason, complete their 2005/6 programme in September 2006.
