Underpinning Standards
Introduction

There are three sets of national standards which underpin the entire PQ Framework.  These are:

  • National Occupational Standards produced by Skills for Care;
  • Codes of Practice for social care workers and employers produced by General Social Care Council (GSCC); and
  • Guidance on the Assessment of Practice in the Workplace developed jointly by Skills for Care and GSCC.
All of these documents will be updated from time to time and the most recent versions are best obtained from the organisations themselves.
