Post Qualifying Award in Social Work (PQSW)
Structure

The Post Qualifying Award in Social Work is a professional qualification, which is achieved by meeting the relevant requirements of the award.

The PQSW is designed to:
  • develop and extend the level of competence acquired at qualifying level;
  • develop and extend workers' level of competence in areas of complex work;
  • develop workers' supervisory, training, consultancy or management skills.

This level of professional competence should be achieveable by all holders of a social work qualification who have been offered appropriate induction, support and relevant training opportunities.
