Increased range of PQ awards

The first stage of development of post qualifying awards in social work was the approval of the BSc Professional Studies Specialist Programme in Child Care (subject to conditions and final ratification by the General Social Care Council).  Also under discussion at the Specialist level is a BSc Professional Studies pathway for people working with adults.  The next stage of the development is to look at programmes leading to Higher Specialist and Advanced Awards which promote management leadership and higher levels of critical skills through collaboration and interprofessional learning.

All programmes in the framework will be designed in partnership with employers, users and carers to meet individual and workforce development needs in social work and social care.  These developments will build on the successful range of Post-Graduate and Masters level programmes already offered by the University of Plymouth and undertaken by individuals from health, social work and social care backgrounds through Peninsula Post Graduate Health Insitute (PPHI), The Graduate School and the Faculty of Education.

Other awards and short courses on offer are the GSCC recognised Practice Teacher Award (60 credits at Level III), Multi-Disciplinary and Multi-Agency Working (20 credits at Masters level) and Managing Practice I (Child Care) (20 credits at Master's level).
